Freilichtmuseeum Vorau

The Museumsdorf Vorau (Vorau Museum Village) is right next to the abbey cemetery: the museum brings rural working life from previous centuries to life. You can see the following in great detail: the Rauchstubenhaus Marotti (built 1706) - a fully furnished typical Eastern Styrian farmhouse, an open shed, flax house, mill house and blacksmith's, the old village doctor's apothecary, hand-setting printer's, a school class, a herb cave, a kiln, a wine press house, farmers' saws, weather rockets and much more.
