"The apple over the years!" - from the Stone Age to the twenty-first century. As the largest fruit-growing municipality in Austria, the orchard village of Puch provides a look back on the history of the fruit that is so important for this region with this museum.
They have set up a traditional press house, planted an old orchard, built an apiary and a weather tower and, of course, curated the museum with interesting and vivid exhibits.
The approximately 25 km long Apple Route, which begins near Gleisdorf on the Wechselbundesstraße (B54) and stretches over five municipalities offers a great deal: fresh fruit, cider, apple juice, fine brandies and various apple products. Sustenance is provided by wine taverns and good culinary establishments.
